Refund Policy
$ symbol (earned through gameplay, has no cash value, and is non-refundable). The $ you see on parcels, listings, and boosts is game currency — not real money.
1. Overview
Land Flipper Tycoon (the "Game") offers the following real-money products: Action Credits (AC), a consumable virtual currency sold in packs; the Pro Flipper subscription, a monthly recurring service; County Files, one-time permanent content-pack unlocks (see Terms §4f); and Charter Bundles (Pacific Northwest Homestead Pack, Idaho Backcountry Pack, Western Expansion All-Access Pass) sold during the charter window. All real-money purchases are processed by Paddle.com as the Merchant of Record — Paddle is the seller of record for every transaction, and Acreford is the supplier of the digital goods.
Current prices: AC packs at USD $2.99 (100 AC), $8.99 (400 AC), $24.99 (1200 AC); Pro Flipper subscription at USD $7.99/month with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers; Lake County CO File at USD $6.99; Pacific Northwest Homestead Pack and Idaho Backcountry Pack at USD $19.99 each during the charter window (2026-09-15), then USD $24.99 standard; Western Expansion All-Access Pass at USD $39.99 during the charter window, then USD $49.99 standard. County Files, regional bundles, and the All-Access Pass are one-time real-money purchases subject to the same 14-day refund window as AC packs and tier packages (see §2 and §4 below).
The Game also uses a fictional in-game dollar ("game-$") for parcel transactions, taxes, and some in-game actions. Game-$ is earned through gameplay and is not purchased with real money. See §3 below.
Refunds for AC packs and Pro Flipper subscriptions are governed by this Policy. Paddle handles all refund processing on behalf of Acreford.
2. Action Credits (AC) — Consumable Virtual Currency
AC is a consumable digital good. Once you spend AC on an in-game action (calling a seller, sending a negotiation message, screening a buyer, unlocking parcel enrichment), that AC is consumed and not refundable.
14-day refund window for unspent AC. If you purchased an AC pack and have not spent any of the AC, you may request a full refund within 14 calendar days of the purchase date. After 14 days, all AC purchases are final and non-refundable.
3. In-Game Dollars (Game-$) — No Cash Value, Non-Refundable
The $ amounts you see throughout the Game (parcel prices, listing values, marketing boost costs, tax bills) represent a fictional in-game currency, not U.S. dollars or any real currency. Game-$ has no cash value, cannot be redeemed for real money, and is not refundable under any circumstances.
- You cannot purchase game-$ with real money. Game-$ is earned only through gameplay (selling flipped parcels).
- Game-$ cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged for real currency, AC, or any other consideration.
- If your account is closed (voluntarily or by us), any game-$ balance is forfeited.
- Attempts to sell game-$ or accounts for real money violate our Terms of Service §4a and will result in account termination without refund of any AC.
4. Pro Flipper Subscription
- Billed monthly in advance at the start of each billing cycle.
- Cancel anytime from your account settings or by emailing service@acreford.com.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No prorated refund for unused days.
- You retain Pro perks until the end of the paid period.
- Free trial. New Pro subscribers are eligible for a 7-day free trial. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. If you do not cancel, your subscription begins and your payment method is charged.
4a. Tier Packages & Cosmetic Items
Tier packages (Founder's Pack, Tycoon Bundle) and cosmetic items (parcel frames and stamps) are one-time real-money purchases processed by Paddle. They are subject to the same 14-day refund window as AC packs: if you request a refund within 14 calendar days of purchase and have not consumed the bundled AC, Paddle will process the refund.
- Tier refunds claw back: the bundled AC grant (if unspent), the cosmetic badge, and the unused Pro time granted by the tier.
- Cosmetic refunds remove: the cosmetic item from your account. Applying a cosmetic to a parcel (Founder's Deeds) is reversible at any time and does not consume the refund window — but once the underlying purchase is refunded, the cosmetic is removed from all parcels it was applied to.
- No partial refunds. As with AC packs, partially-consumed tier packages are not eligible for partial refunds.
4b. Charter Member Badge — Refund Clawback
The Charter Member badge is granted on your first successful real-money purchase before the Charter Member deadline displayed in the Shop. The badge is purely cosmetic and grants no gameplay advantage.
- If the purchase that earned your Charter Member status is refunded within the 14-day window and you have no other qualifying purchase, the badge is removed.
- If you have multiple qualifying purchases, refunding any one of them does not remove the badge — you only lose Charter Member status if all qualifying purchases are refunded.
- The Charter Member deadline is shown in-game. Once published, it may be extended (later) but never shortened (earlier).
4c. County Files, Bundles, and the All-Access Pass
County Files (Lake County CO File, plus the six Western Expansion single-county Files — Lake County OR, Harney County OR, Malheur County OR, Owyhee County ID, Lemhi County ID, Custer County ID), the regional Charter Bundles (Pacific Northwest Homestead Pack, Idaho Backcountry Pack), and the Western Expansion All-Access Pass are one-time real-money purchases processed by Paddle. They are subject to the same 14-day refund window as tier packages and AC packs.
- Refunding a County File re-locks the county. The purchased county is removed from your unlocked-counties list, all parcels purchased inside that county are removed from your inventory, and any unresolved tax-lien or water-rights flags on those parcels are discarded. See Terms §4f for full clawback mechanics. Game-$ already earned inside the refunded county is not clawed back — it was earned through gameplay in the unlocked window, consistent with §3's treatment of game-$ as non-refundable gameplay currency.
- Refunding a regional Charter Bundle or the All-Access Pass re-locks ALL counties granted by the bundle. If you purchased the Pacific Northwest Homestead Pack (which grants Lake OR + Harney OR + Malheur OR) and request a refund within the 14-day window, all three Oregon counties are re-locked. If you purchased the All-Access Pass (which grants Lake CO + all six Western Expansion counties) and request a refund, all seven counties are re-locked.
- No partial refunds. If you purchased the All-Access Pass and now want only Lake CO and not the other six counties, you cannot selectively refund the six Western Expansion counties — you must refund the entire All-Access Pass within the 14-day window (which re-locks all seven counties) and then purchase Lake CO as a standalone County File.
- Edge case — standalone + bundle. If you purchased Lake CO as a standalone County File and later purchased the All-Access Pass (which also includes Lake CO), refunding the All-Access Pass re-locks Lake CO. To re-acquire Lake CO after refunding the All-Access Pass, you must purchase the standalone Lake CO File again.
- Charter Discount clawback. If you purchased a Charter Bundle and received the
nextPackDiscountfield (the one-time 30% discount on your next Western Expansion County File purchase — see Terms §4f-2), refunding the qualifying Charter Bundle within the 14-day window removes thenextPackDiscountfield from your account. If you have already redeemed the 30% discount on a subsequent purchase, that redemption survives the refund — the discount was applied to a completed transaction.
5. How to Request a Refund
Two paths:
- Via Paddle: Log in to your Paddle account at my.paddle.com, find the charge, and request a refund. Paddle processes refunds within 5–10 business days back to your original payment method.
- Via Acreford: Email service@acreford.com with your account email, approximate purchase date, and amount. We will forward the request to Paddle and respond within 2 business days.
Note: Refunds apply only to real-money purchases (unspent AC packs within 14 days, prorated Pro subscription on shutdown). Game-$ balances and spent AC are not refundable.
6. Minors & Parental Consent
The Game is open to players aged 13 and older. Real-money purchases (AC packs, Pro Flipper) by players under 18 require parental or guardian consent.
- At checkout, players indicating they are under 18 will be prompted to have a parent or guardian complete the transaction.
- By completing a real-money purchase for a minor, the parent or guardian accepts this Refund Policy and our Terms of Service on the minor's behalf.
- Refund requests for minor-initiated purchases made without parental consent will be honored in full within the 14-day window, no questions asked.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact service@acreford.com and we will delete it within 30 days.
7. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
Because Paddle is the Merchant of Record, chargebacks are handled by Paddle, not Acreford. If you believe a charge was unauthorized, contact Paddle support at support@paddle.com or your card issuer directly. We will not retaliate against your account for filing a good-faith chargeback. Paddle may suspend your payment method if chargebacks show a pattern of abuse.
8. Country-Specific Rights
Some jurisdictions give you cancellation or refund rights that cannot be waived:
- European Union (Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU). 14-calendar-day withdrawal right from distance contracts. Note: Art. 16(m) may eliminate this right for digital content once you expressly consent to downloading and acknowledge waiving — we will surface that acknowledgement at the point of purchase.
- United Kingdom (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). Same 14-day withdrawal right.
- Certain U.S. states. State law may provide additional statutory rights.
- Israel (Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981). Israeli consumers retain any non-waivable withdrawal rights that mandatorily apply under Israeli law, regardless of what other jurisdictions' provisions state in this Policy.
Nothing in this Policy limits any non-waivable consumer rights you have under your local law.
9. Account Closure & Game Shutdown
If we shut down the Game permanently, we will post notice at least thirty (30) days in advance. As a shutdown-only exception to §2's 14-day window, all unspent AC will be refunded in full regardless of when it was purchased, calculated at the per-AC price you paid in the original Paddle transaction. Pro Flipper subscriptions cancelled due to shutdown receive a prorated refund for the unused portion of the current billing period. Game-$ balances are forfeited on shutdown — they have no cash value.
